Cold Wind

(Michael Allen Ott)
MIchael Allen Ott
Cold wind blowin' across the prairie.
My camfire's burned down to the coals.
I lay my blanket down
on the cold frosty ground.
It sends shivers down to my soul.

You can't stop the rain
or stop the seasons from changin".
You can't turn the wind or the tide.
Sometthings in this world just go without sayin'
cowboys are lonesome inside.

Teardrops will fall on her pillow.
While she waits for me to come home.
She knows I'll blow in
with the cold winter wind.
When some of the lonesome
is gone.

You can't stop the rain
or stop the seasons from changin".
You can't turn the wind or the tide.
Sometthings in this world just go without sayin'
cowboys are lonesome inside.

Cowboys need wide open spaces.
To help heal the hurt in our souls.
Some how we find
our peace of mind.
While ridin' alone in the cold.

You can't stop the rain
or stop the seasons from changin".
You can't turn the wind or the tide.
Sometthings in this world just go without sayin'
cowboys are lonesome inside.
