Big Texas Moon

(Michael Allen Ott)
Michael Allen Ott
There's a whole lot of hurtin' on this trail that I'm ridin'
If I had to go another day you'd hear a cowboy cryin'
How much longer until I can hold her close to me?
How much longer 'til this lonesome trail is a memory?

Big Texas Moon. Shine all night.
I've got to keep on ridin' until I see you in her eyes.
A few more hours and I can hold her close to me.
A few more miles this trail will be a memory.

It seems like an eternity since I rode out of Waco.
Her big brown eyes were full of tears her soft lips
whipered don't go.
I held her close and told her I would be home soon.
Now I'm ridin' like the wind beneath this Texas moon.

Big Texas Moon. Shine all night.
I've got to keep on ridin' until I see you in her eyes.
A few more hours and I can hold her close to me.
A few more miles this trail will be a memory.

I promised her when I got home we'd build a life together.
Settle down outside of town
and love and laugh forever.
If that big old Texas moon will keep on shining bright.
I'll be back in her arms before the morning light.

Big Texas Moon. Shine all night.
I've got to keep on ridin' until I see you in her eyes.
A few more hours and I can hold her close to me.
A few more miles this trail will be a memory.
